About the event

The Jury Art Prize is Courthouse Gallery+Studio's annual contemporary art award, celebrating the outstanding creativity and artistic excellence of regional and remote Western Australian artists.

Established in 2020, the prize has rapidly become one of regional Western Australia's most significant visual arts awards, providing a platform for emerging and established artists working across a diverse range of mediums. Each year, a panel of industry professionals selects a shortlist of finalists whose works are exhibited at Courthouse Gallery+Studio in Port Hedland.

The exhibition culminates in the announcement of several major awards, recognising excellence across contemporary artistic practice while supporting the ongoing development of artists living and working throughout regional Western Australia.

In 2026, the celebration extends beyond Port Hedland, with selected finalist artworks and the announcement of the major award winners projected on the iconic Yagan Square Digital Tower in Perth, bringing the work of regional Western Australian artists to one of the state's most prominent public spaces.

The 2026 Jury Art Prize is proudly supported by Town of Port Hedland, BHP, Pilbara Development Commission, and Rio Tinto.
