The Interim

Viko Liu
Ceramic

The Interim captures the essence of fly-in, fly-out existence. It is a window into a vessel of transience. The evidence of a life lived in suspension.

The neon uniform, mining helmet, and work boots rest in a state of perpetual readiness. The small ceramic bed speaks to rest as mere recovery, stripped of leisure in a space occupied but never settled.

This work honors the duality at the heart of the FIFO experience: the pride and purpose of essential labor set against the solitude and impermanence of life in the interim.
