Ocean Pull Of Life

Kim Tetlow
Kiln Formed Glass

A kiln-formed glass drop vessel inspired by the ocean’s shifting nature. Layered blue tones and fluid form evoke movement between calm and turbulence, while light reflections mirror water in motion and the constant change of life.

About the Artist

Kim Tetlow

Mid West

Based in the coastal town of Geraldton, Western Australia, Kim Tetlow is a kiln-formed glass artist whose work is deeply inspired by the ever-changing rhythms of the ocean. Living by the sea has shaped both the aesthetic and symbolic language of her art, where the tides, shells, and organic forms found along the shoreline become powerful metaphors for life’s own ebb and flow. Through the intricate process of kiln forming, Kim creates layered glass pieces that echo the textures and patterns of the coastal landscape. Her work explores the parallels between nature’s cycles and the emotional currents we navigate as humans—highlighting themes of movement, transition, and transformation. Drawing on the visual and emotional language of the sea, Kim’s art invites contemplation and connection, offering a quiet reminder of the beauty and symbolism found in life’s natural rhythms.
