A thoughtful memory of the spring my Grandfather and I would walk to everyday until his passing. We only spoke Polish back then. Today I call him Grandfather but he will always be DzaDzi to me. Thank you for reading.

Katy McManus i s a self-taught artist born in the United States, shaped by the mentorship o f her grandfather (DzaDzi), a US Marine Captain who imparted lessons o f discipline & resilience. Katy immigrated from Indonesia & i s focused on establishing her artistic career i n Australia. Endeavouring t o d o so with an open mind & heart while cultivating respectful, harmonious, & mutually beneficial relationships with the local culture & art communities. Katy has been shaped b y her experiences & encounters. Having visited many different countries, she has developed a unique perspective on the complexities of human existence. These adventures have had a profound impact on her worldview & artistic perspective. As an artist, Katy's work is deeply personal & introspective. She draws from her own experiences & observations t o create art that is both intimate & thoughtful. Her paintings & stories are infused with a sense o f mystery, empathy & compassion, born from her own encounters with people from diverse backgrounds. Katy's experimental techniques with gilding, charcoal, pastels, oil paints & textiles is a reflection of her own growth & exploration as a person. Her art is characterized by its honesty, vulnerability, & sensitivity. Through her work, she invites viewers to share in her experiences & perspectives, inviting them t o reflect on their own lives & connections with others through original characters, lore, mythologies & dogmas. With a deep respect for the human experience, Katy's art i s a testament to the power of storytelling & the importance of human connection. Her work reminds us that even with all of man's differences, we are all connected through our shared experiences & emotions.
