Painting Workshop with Larry Mitchell

Following the opening of Larry Mitchell: A Pilbara Project Exhibition, renowned visual artist Larry Mitchell will hold a one-day painting workshop in the Courthouse Gallery gardens on Saturday 18 February from 9am to 4pm.
Tactile Realism: An Approach to the Landscape and Oil Painting
During the workshop Larry will guide participants in forming their own perseptions and response to the landscape through the medium of oil paints. This workshop is designed to inspire ance teach residents from Hedland and broader Pilbara communities through exploring refined painting skills and encourage alternative approaches to the art and act of painting.
Larry is highly skilled and is renowned for his photographic, minutely detailed depiction of natural and human landscapes - access to his knowledge and experience represents a unique opportunity for the community.
Workshop cost is $70.00 per person and all materials will be provided. This workshop is only suitable for those with some experience in working with oil paints. Limited spaces available, download more information and an application form here.
